How often should I replace my vacuum cleaner filters?

How often should I replace my vacuum cleaner’s filters?
How often should I replace my vacuum cleaner’s filters?

Vacuum cleaners come with various foam or mesh filters. Some can be cleaned and used again, and others need replacing every so often. Although the frequency of this varies depending on your vacuuming habits, below are some general guidelines.

Keep the appliance unplugged during installation and cleaning. For more information on your vacuum cleaner’s filters, please consult your user manual. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.

Re-usable Filters

Re-usable filters can be cleaned, even washed under water. These are usually made of foam and need cleaning when your vacuum cleaner shows signs of decreased suction power. Make sure to let filters dry fully before reinstalling them.

HEPA Filters

HEPA, or high efficiency particulate air filters filter out particles as small as 0.3 microns and keep them from being released back into air by your vacuum cleaner’s exhaust. It’s good practice to change your vacuum cleaner’s HEPA filter every 6 months. Please use filters sold by authorised dealers and service centres only.

Check your filters regularly

Keep it in mind that clogged filters will cause a drop in your appliance's suction power and performance They will also restrict the air flow inside, making your vacuum cleaner overheat. As a result, your vacuum’s parts or motor might get damaged. Monitor the condition of your filters regularly and take the necessary steps.
