How to fix a smelly vacuum cleaner?

How to fix a smelly vacuum cleaner?
How to fix a smelly vacuum cleaner?

There are several reasons for your vacuum cleaner to emit bad odours. Please see if one of the following will solve the problem.

Check the dust container or bag for foul-smelling content

There may be something in the dust container or bag that smells bad. Empty the container or replace the bag before using your appliance again.

See if the brush or roller is clogged or blocked

The air intake pipeline of the brush accessories may be clogged, or the roller accessory may be blocked due to dirt build-up. If you keep using your vacuum while these parts are not fully functioning, there may be an unpleasant burning smell coming from your appliance. Clean these parts and remove any dirt build-up.

For parts that need disassembling, please consult your user manual as each model may have different instructions. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.

See if the filters are clogged

The filter sheets that protect the motor may get clogged after collecting too much dust. Clean or replace them by consulting your user manual as each model may have different instructions. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.
