It has been more than a year since the global pandemic crisis has forced every country to advise their citizens against going out of their homes. And because COVID-19 spreads through contact with an infected person or contaminated surfaces, only essential trips and travels are recommended. This includes essential work, emergencies, medical purposes, and so on.

As homemakers, our chores consist of more than just indoors. One of the most important errands we make is our trips to the market or grocery store. But with our current situation, it’s important to limit these trips outside. Thus, stocking up our pantries with food and other necessary items is a must.

Worried to stock up on food due to spoilage? Beko has come up with a solution to help families keep living a healthier lifestyle while avoiding unnecessary food wastes with HarvestFresh.

How does it work?

Beko’s amazing refrigerator feature called HarvestFresh imitates the sun’s natural 24 hour cycle. Food stored in their specialized crisper drawer will have a similar light cycle as they would outdoors. Homemakers can expect fruits and vegetables stocked in their refrigerators to last longer and to increase their vitamin content when exposed to these lights.

What are these lights?

In its crisper drawer, Beko has installed an innovative three color LED light technology. This imitates the light a fresh produce can get from its natural environment.

The blue light mimics the light shone by the sunrise. This will go on for the first four hours. Afterwards, the green light will replace it to signify the midday sun for two hours. Lastly, the red light illuminates in the drawer to mark the end of the day. This will go on for six hours until the lights completely shuts off to represent night time.

Is this all?

No. The new HarvestFresh feature will be working alongside other features of a Beko refrigerator. This also includes EverFresh and NeoFrost Dual Cooling, which maintains ideal conditions for produce to keep fresh 3x longer and faster cooling.

Beko continuously innovates to achieve their aim in helping people to live healthier and better through their appliances. With today’s crisis, the company hopes nothing more than to promote healthy living and ease worries of food spoilage with its new HarvestFresh technology.
