How to Clean the Filters on Your Tumble Dryer
Keeping your tumble dryer filters clean is essential for optimal performance and energy
efficiency. Here’s a step-by-step guide to clean the filters:
Step 1: Check for Filter Cleaning Warning
First, check if the filter cleaning warning symbol is displayed on the tumble dryer’s
control panel. This symbol indicates that it’s time to clean the filters.
Step 2: Open the Door
Open the door of your tumble dryer to access the filters.
Step 3: Remove the Filters
Start by removing the inner filter, followed by the outer filter placed inside the door.
These filters trap lint during the drying process.
Step 4: Clean the Filters
Open the filters and clean them thoroughly:
● Use a damp cloth or a vacuum cleaner to remove any accumulated lint.
● Clean both filters under running water, washing in the reverse direction of the
fibre build-up.
Step 5: Dry the Filters
After cleaning, dry both filters completely before reinstallation to avoid moisture entering
the dryer.
Step 6: Reassemble and Replace the Filters
Place the two-part filter back together and insert it in its original place inside the dryer.
By regularly cleaning the filters, you ensure that your tumble dryer works efficiently,
reducing drying time and energy consumption.
