How often should I clean my dishwasher's drain filter?

It’s recommended that you clean your dishwasher’s drain filter once a month to avoid bad odours. It’s located at the bottom of your dishwasher’s tub. 

To clean the drain filter, pull the bottom rack out of your dishwasher. Remove the filter from the bottom of the appliance by pulling it upwards, then wash it under the tap.
