How to Clean Your Fridge Condenser

Cleaning your fridge condenser regularly is important for maintaining its cooling efficiency.

Follow these simple steps to clean the condenser safely and effectively:

Step 1: Disconnect the Fridge from Power

Before you start cleaning, always disconnect the fridge from the power source. This

ensures your safety while you work on the condenser, preventing any electrical hazards.

Step 2: Wear Gloves for Protection

Make sure to wear gloves during the cleaning process. The condenser and surrounding

parts may have accumulated dirt, dust, or sharp edges that can harm your hands.

Step 3: Locate the Condenser

The condenser is located at the back bottom side of your fridge. To access it, you’ll

need to carefully pull the fridge away from the wall, ensuring you have enough room to

work.

Step 4: Remove the Metal Plate

Once you’ve located the condenser, you will see it covered by a metal plate. Use a

screwdriver to remove the screws
and take off the metal plate to reveal the condenser.

Step 5: Clean the Condenser and Fan with a Brush

After removing the plate, you’ll see the black condenser coils and the fan. If they are

dirty, gently clean them using a brush. Make sure not to use a vacuum cleaner, as it could

damage the delicate components.

Step 6: Reassemble and Power On

Once the condenser and fan are clean, reassemble the metal plate by screwing it back

in place
. After everything is secure, you can reconnect the fridge to the power source.

Step 7: Enjoy Better Cooling Performance

By regularly cleaning the condenser every 6 months, you’ll boost the cooling

performance
of your fridge, ensuring it works efficiently and consumes less energy.

By following these steps, you can keep your fridge running at its best, extending its lifespan

and optimizing its cooling abilities.
