How to Install Your Washing Machine (Part 1): Removing Transit Bolts and Adjusting Feet

Setting up a new washing machine can feel a little intimidating at first, but the process becomes very manageable once you understand each step. With a few simple preparations and the right approach, your Beko washing machine will be ready for use in no time. The visuals provided in the installation guide highlight the main stages, from unpacking to final levelling. Below is a complete step by step explanation designed to help you install your appliance safely and correctly.

1. Start with Removing the Packaging

When your washing machine arrives, it will be fully protected by plastic wrapping and reinforced with a thick styrofoam base. Begin by removing the outer plastic layer so you can access the green ribbons attached to the styrofoam blocks. Pull the ribbon firmly to release the styrofoam at the bottom. These blocks stabilise the appliance during transportation, so make sure you take them out completely before moving on.

For the styrofoam underneath, you may need to slightly tilt the machine backward. Do this carefully and preferably with another person supporting the appliance. Once tilted, slide the lower styrofoam piece out and set it aside. Removing all packaging ensures the washing machine can sit correctly on the floor and remain stable during operation.

2. Remove the Transport Bolts

On the rear side of your Beko washing machine, you will find transport safety bolts. These bolts secure the drum during transportation and must be removed before you use the appliance. Leaving them in place can lead to loud vibrations, potential damage, and improper performance.

Using the provided wrench or a suitable tool, gently loosen and remove each bolt. The guide shows a close view of this process, where the orange stabilising parts detach as the bolt is turned. Keep the bolts somewhere safe in case you need to move the machine in the future.

3. Cover the Holes with Plastic Caps

Once all safety bolts are removed, you will see several open holes at the back of the appliance. Your installation kit includes round plastic caps designed to cover these openings. Pick up each cap and press it firmly into place, ensuring a snug fit. The caps help protect the interior, keep the machine visually tidy, and prevent dust from entering through the bolt holes.

You will find these caps in the small accessory bag that came with your machine. Attach all of them before moving on to positioning the appliance.

4. Position the Washing Machine

Carefully move the machine to its final location. Ideally, it should sit on a flat, solid surface that can support the weight and absorb the vibration produced during washing cycles. Leave enough room at the back for hoses and electrical cables. Make sure the machine is not twisted or leaning to one side.

5. Adjust the Feet for Perfect Balance

Under the washing machine, you will find adjustable feet. These allow the appliance to stand level and stable. This is a key part of the installation process, as proper balancing prevents shaking, noise, and unwanted movement during spinning.

Gently tilt the machine forward or sideways and adjust each foot by hand. Turn them clockwise or anticlockwise until the washing machine sits evenly on all four corners. Check the stability by lightly shaking the top of the machine. It should feel steady without wobbling.

6. Final Checks Before Use

After the placement and levelling are complete, do a quick check around the machine. Make sure all packaging has been removed, all safety bolt holes are covered, and the appliance stands firmly. Once these steps are done, you can proceed with connecting the water inlet hose, drain hose, and electricity based on your model’s full user manual.

A proper installation helps your Beko washing machine perform as intended and ensures a smoother laundry experience right from the start. Following these steps, supported by the guidance shown in the images, makes the process straightforward and ensures your appliance is ready to serve you reliably for years.
