How to Use a Tumble Dryer

How to Use a Tumble Dryer

A tumble dryer can simplify laundry day if used correctly. Follow these steps to get the best

drying performance while keeping your clothes in good condition.

1. Maximize Spin Efficiency in Your Washing Machine

Before transferring clothes to the tumble dryer, ensure your washing machine has used the

highest spin level suitable for the fabric. This will remove excess water and reduce drying

time, making the process more energy-efficient.

2. Check Care Labels

It’s essential to verify that your clothes are suitable for tumble drying. Look for the dryer

symbol on the care label, and if the garment is labeled "tumble dry," you can proceed.

Ensure you follow any specific instructions like temperature or drying limitations.

3. Choose the Right Program

Select a drying program that matches the fabric type. For example:

Cotton: Opt for 'Cupboard Dry' or 'Iron Dry' programs.

Synthetics: Use programs like 'Synthetics Cupboard Dry' and load only 50% of the

dryer's capacity for synthetics to ensure better drying performance.

4. Prepare Your Clothes

Before loading your dryer, turn clothes inside out. This helps prevent color fading and

reduces the noise caused by zippers, buttons, or cufflinks clinking against the drum. Also,

untangle clothes to avoid uneven drying.

4. Avoid Overloading or Underloading

Do not overload: This can lead to prolonged drying times and reduced efficiency.

Leave enough room for clothes to tumble freely.

Do not underload: This could affect the dryer's performance. Always try to have an

appropriate load for the dryer’s capacity.

5. Set the Program Time (for Time Programs)

If you're using a time-based program, set the drying time based on the load. Press the time

adjustment button and choose how long the dryer should run.

6. Select Your Desired Dryness Level

Use the dryness setting button to adjust the level of dryness you need, from Damp to Extra

Dry. This feature is useful if you plan to iron your clothes or store them directly after drying.

7. Use the Child Lock (Optional)

To avoid interruptions, activate the child lock feature. Simply press and hold the

designated child lock buttons for 3 seconds. This will ensure the program runs smoothly

without accidental interference.

8. Delay Start Option (Optional)

You can delay the drying cycle start by up to 24 hours. This is convenient if you want the

drying to finish at a specific time. After selecting your desired program, press the delay

button to choose when the cycle should begin.

9. Listen for the Audible Warning

Your dryer will emit a sound when the drying cycle is complete. If you prefer a quieter

operation, you can adjust the sound level by pressing the sound warning level button.

10. Cancel the Program (If Needed)

If you need to stop the cycle midway, press the on-off button and hold it for 3 seconds to

cancel the program.

By following these steps, you can effectively and safely use your tumble dryer, ensuring

optimal performance while keeping your clothes in great condition.
