A single built-in oven is an oven that is installed directly into your kitchen cabinetry instead of sitting on the floor like a freestanding cooker. You can install it at whatever height suits you best, and it provides a sleek and modern look.
Our ovens are designed to fit standard cabinet sizes, ranging from 60cm wide, 60cm high, and 56-57cm deep for built-in models and larger options from 90cm width, but 60cm is standard in Australian kitchens.
It will depend on your needs. Single ovens are a great option for everyday cooking and smaller families, while a double oven offers more versatility and capacity, allowing multiple dishes to cook simultaneously at different temperatures, perfect for larger households.
Why choose a built-in single oven over a freestanding cooker?
Both are great options for your kitchen. The main difference is that a built-in oven can go almost anywhere, giving you more freedom in your layout and a seamless, integrated look, while a freestanding cooker takes up more space as a single fixed unit, but it includes an integrated cooktop.
Grab a tape measure and check your existing cavity. You need the height, width, and depth, plus any ventilation space required around the unit. With those details, you can compare them to the product specifications.
If you are unsure, check out our help centre, contact us or get in touch with one of our retailers to get assistance.
A built-in oven should always be installed by a qualified electrician to make sure it’s connected safely and ventilated correctly, as required by Australian regulations.
If you need a hand, our retailers can help guide you toward suitable installation options or share advice on next steps.
Wipe spills as soon as they happen and clean racks with warm, soapy water to prevent buildup and keep your oven in good shape.
If your oven has self-cleaning, use the pyrolytic cycle for deep cleans. It heats to 480°C and reduces residue to ash. The catalytic panels clean themselves during normal cooking, and the CleanZone® door just needs a soft cloth.
